Healthspan: The New Goal of Aging
Haven’t we all heard the saying, "50 is the new 30?” This newer catchphrase reflects our evolving idea of aging. We are no longer content with increasing lifespan to just live as long as possible. Instead, we are focusing on healthspan- we want to enjoy life for as long as possible! We are searching for strategies to keep our minds, bodies, and souls vibrant well into our older years.
Our collective interest in prioritizing healthspan over lifespan has inspired technologies to evaluate biological aging. We can now assess biological age by testing our DNA for methylation and our telomeres.
